KMS Clubs

KMS offers two distinct clubs that work toward the mission for KMS students. These clubs will be monitored by a member of our board and ran by screened volunteers.

The clubs will participate events at local KMS venues or state-wide locations for exposure. The details of the clubs will become available as we gather volunteers.

Learning with Tablets

Public Speaking Club

This club is geared toward teaching middle school to high school students how to speak publicly on topics by doing research and applying the information accurately to convey their position and answer external questions. The club will allow students to be apart of an experience with the following: 

  • Panel style events booked to visit various schools on the selected topics.

  • Allow students to gain extracurricular credit

  • Earn a spot as a mentor for the program after a year of commitment.

  • Host two panel events each year.

Literacy & Writing Club

Literacy focused activities that allow students to engage in reading and writing curriculum. This club will engage in weekly tasks to support the growth of the student members skills. This club will allow students to gain experience and community service hours by participating in the following organization programs and events:

  • Read-a-Thon, Book Fairs, Mentor Reading circles, Weekly Read Aloud broadcasts on the website, and Newsletter column for club members.

  • Meetings will be set by volunteer mentors and tasks weekly to accommodate the goals of the club

  • End of year writing and speaking competition in collaboration with a public speaking club.
